How to survive a theme park with small children

So first of all, you need my friend Victoria to plan your trip. She’d arranged a weekend at Chessington for her daughter’s birthday, and we gate-crashed it. Their little faces when they spotted each other in the hotel reception was hard to beat. We set off at 8.30am weighed down with heavy backpacks, and Victoria reminding us of the strategy. “We go to the back of the theme park first people. No dithering, no stopping to look at anything. The park wants you to do that, be smarter.”

So my blog, Mum In The South, was born shortly after my third daughter. I wrote about being 'a wife, mum-of three and occasional person in her own right.' I wish I could recognise my PMT

So I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a bit ‘headstrong’. I’m not the kind of person you’ll find in a yoga class or class or studying mindfulness. On the whole though, I think I’m pretty level-headed. I do the British thing of saying sorry when someone walks into me and say: “fine thanks, you?” when someone ask me how I am, even when I am not. But then it gets to the last week of the month, and I turn into a mutated version of teen-wolf. I know I am not a teenager who should know better, and I know I sound like my three-year old when I say this, but it’s not my fault. PMT (premenstrual tension) makes me do it.
